ADA CE Spotlight: Treating dental patients with diabetes

Diabetes mellitus affects over 29 million Americans, and it is likely that dental offices are treating these patients on a daily basis.

diabetesThe ADA Council on Access, Prevention and Interprofessional Relations has developed an online course to help dentists understand the signs, symptoms, risk factors and systematic complications of diabetes.

The course, “Diabetes Mellitus and the Dental Professional,” is available at ADAceonline.org. In addition, the ADA Science Institute offers resources regarding diabetes and oral health online.
