- Interact: It’s called social media for a reason. Connect with like-minded people at the meeting by replying to tweets on Twitter or commenting on Facebook posts. Online networking may even lead to in-person meetings and valuable connections.
- Find your groove: One of the best ways to improve your social media presence is to be consistent. Plan to live-tweet one lecture a day or post a recap with photos at the end of each night.
- Play nice: Social etiquette is similar to real-world etiquette. Don’t say anything online that you wouldn’t say in-person.
- Stay classy, Washington: What happens in Washington, D.C. does not stay in Washington, D.C. Your actions online are public, so keep that in mind when publishing posts.
