National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is April 27

By | April 25, 2019

The Drug Enforcement Agency’s next National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is scheduled for April 27.

According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, the majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.

Dentists and their patients are encouraged to return expired or unwanted prescriptions to various collection sites across the country.

The ADA is hosting a May 8 webinar on the opioid overdose epidemic to help dentists learn how to deal with the root causes of the epidemic.

Analgesic Prescribing in the Opioid Overdose Epidemic: A Milligram of Prevention is Better Than a Pound of Rehabilitation will take place from 2-3 p.m. EST and is part of the ADA’s Opioid Webinar series. The webinar is free and includes an hour of continuing education credit.
