Have you ever wondered why a claim was denied or the dental plan consultant asked for additional documentation? Some of the most worrisome concerns reported to the American Dental Association by member dentists are claim denials and requests for additional information. Dentists want to know why the benefit for the treatment plan agreed upon by their patient may be denied. In addition, dentists want to know why substantial documentation is needed to adjudicate claims.
This webinar, to be held noon-1 p.m. Central time on April 18, is another of the many ways we’re working to help answer our member’s most important questions on dental benefits and third party issues. One hour of continuing education (CE) credit is available to all participants who remain connected for at least 45 minutes.
In this session you will hear from a consultant from a major dental plan who will discuss claims submission expectations and responsibilities of a dental consultant. You will hear why the information and appropriate documentation is necessary in order to adjudicate claim submissions from a payers’ perspective. You will also hear from two representatives from the ADA Council on Dental Benefit Programs react to these requirements and present ADA views based on best practices and policy adopted by the ADA’s House of Delegates.
