Free webinar: Opportunities abound for locum tenens dentists

By | February 6, 2019

Have you ever thought about what would happen to your practice in the event of your absence for a short period of time? Who would treat your patients? A locum tenens dentist is a dentist who works in the place of the regular dentist when that dentist is absent. A locum dentist may also work in the place of a deceased dentist, giving the owner of the dental office time to sell the practice.

The American Dental Association has recognized the need to educate dental offices on the administrative practices and policies of third party payers to address instances where the absent dentist is replaced by a temporary dentist. Dental plans have various policies when it comes to locum dentists and it is important for dental offices to understand how payers handle temporary dentists.

In this webinar you will hear from a dentist who had a short term absence and needed to hire a temporary dentist. You will hear from a dentist who provided temporary dental services and how the dentist discovered those opportunities. Lastly, you will hear from a major dental plan who will explain its policies on locum tenens dentists.

This webinar is another of the many ways we’re working to help answer our member’s most important questions on dental benefits and third party issues.
