Are you going to the 2015 New Dentist Conference or ADA 2015?

One way to maximize the experience at ADA 2015 and the New Dentist Conference in Washington, D.C. is to get involved in the online conversations happening throughout the meeting. How can dentists get involved? For starters:

  1. Use the hashtags: #ADADC and #newdentistfever are the two official hashtags of the ADA 2015 annual meeting. Use #ADADC in all your posts, and use #newdentistfever during the New Dentist Conference. Want to see how well our hashtags are doing? Visit #ADADC and #newdentistfever on Symplur.com, a hashtag analytics website.
  2. Connect with the ADA: Follow us on Twitter @amerdentalassn, like us on Facebook at American Dental Association and subscribe to the ADA YouTube channel. Stay connected for live updates and information throughout the meeting. For the latest news, follow @ADANews on twitter.
  3. Enter the ADA photo sweepstakes: During the conference you’ll have the opportunity to enter a photo sweepstakes contest with the hashtag #ADADC. Enter for a chance to win prizes.
  4. Test your trivia: Lookout for ADA trivia contests that will test your knowledge of the history of dentistry and the Association. Answer with the #ADADC hashtag to enter.
  5. Live-tweet from the meeting: Share what you’re learning by posting updates from sessions, meetings, lectures or from the exhibit floor.
  6. Post pictures: Share your photos at #ADADC — from new products on the exhibit floor to selfies at the Lincoln Memorial. The ADA will retweet and share via ADA social media, so use the official hashtags.
  7. Interact: It’s called social media for a reason. Connect with like-minded people at the meeting by replying to tweets on Twitter or commenting on Facebook posts. Online networking may even lead to in-person meetings and valuable connections.
  8. Find your groove: One of the best ways to improve your social media presence is to be consistent. Plan to live-tweet one lecture a day or post a recap with photos at the end of each night.
  9. Play nice: Social etiquette is similar to real-world etiquette. Don’t say anything online that you wouldn’t say in-person.
  10. Stay classy, Washington: What happens in Washington, D.C. does not stay in Washington, D.C. Your actions online are public, so keep that in mind when publishing posts.
