New dentists can get extra bang for their buck at ADA 2014 — America’s Dental Meeting, Oct. 9-14 in San Antonio. New dentists (those who graduated from dental school in 2005 or later) can take advantage of a 20 percent discount from course fees in the New Dentist Track — a special 11-course CE track with a mix of business, ergonomics and clinical topics designed to make transition into practice smoother.

Register for the meeting, courses and special events by Sept. 5, at 5 p.m. Central time, to save on fees and to receive your meeting badge and tickets in the mail before the meeting. (See the full story here.)ADA 2014 logo

ADA 2014 also features some great special events and networking opportunities:

• Opening General Session and Distinguished Speaker Series, featuring President George W. Bush, Oct. 9, from 9-10:30 a.m., at the Alamodome. The program is free, but advance registration is required.

• Welcome Celebration, Oct. 9, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Historic Sunset Station. Cost is $65 for adults and $35 children under 12, and includes Texas-style tailgate food and drinks; live music; and round-trip transportation from ADA hotels.

• New Dentist Reception, Oct. 10, from 5:30-7 p.m., Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, Lonesome Dove Room. Cost is $20 per person in advance, $30 after the September 5 deadline.
