Webinar: Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Payments – Exploding the Myth

By | April 19, 2017

When a dental benefits plan informs a dentist that he or she must accept an electronic funds transfer rather than a paper check, does that dentist have to accept the EFT?

That question and more will be answered at an upcoming free ADA webinar called “Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Payments: Exploding the Myth.”

The webinar, worth one hour of continuing education credit, is scheduled for May 11 from noon-1 p.m. Central Daylight Time.

According to the course description, dental professionals “will gain a basic understanding of how EFT payments work, how they can help dental offices receive quicker payments and obstacles faced by dental offices that wish to receive EFT payments.” In addition, dentists “will hear directly from leaders in the banking industry, dental practice management vendors and colleagues in practice about the value proposition of accepting the health care EFT standard and its companion, the electronic remittance advice.”

The presenters are Priscilla C. Holland, senior director of health care and industry verticals for NACHA—The Electronic Payments Association; Amy Hoelscher, inside sales and vendor partner manager at the Patterson Technology Center; Brad Royer, Dentrix product manager with Henry Schein Practice Solutions; Dr. Ronald Riggins, chair of the Council on Dental Benefit Programs and Code Maintenance Committee; and Ann Brisk, director at the Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare.
