Share your Give Kids A Smile pics

Are you volunteering in a Give Kids A Smile event this year?

GKAS program coordinators should have their digital cameras ready to capture the highlights of their activities starting Feb. 5, the national Give Kids A Smile Day kickoff.

GKAS cameraThe ADA News and the ADA Foundation welcome digital photo submissions from GKAS program participants — including candid pictures of children, dentists and team members interacting, and also clinical photos (patients in the chair, and dental team members in gloves, masks, protective eyewear and gowns). Be sure to include identification of those pictured and facts about your event.

Send high-resolution photos for consideration for use in the ADA News in print and online to adanews@ada.org as soon as possible following your event.

Program coordinators can also post photos on the ADA Foundation GKAS Facebook page. Clinical photos submitted for the site should show dental professionals using universal precautions.

The Foundation is also seeking GKAS photos for use in promotional materials. Photos for this purpose must be accompanied by a signed photo release form for each subject in the photo. The release form may be downloaded from the GKAS Program Planning Toolbox on ADAFoundation.org. Contact the ADA Foundation at 1-312-440-2547 if you have questions.

As of Jan. 8, with GKAS Day just a few weeks away, 1,184 GKAS events have registered, and it is estimated that they will treat more than 277,000 children on or around Feb. 5. Nearly 7,000 dentists and more than 23,000 other dental team members and lay volunteers will be providing free care to kids in need through GKAS programs.

Coordinators are encouraged to register their GKAS events if they haven’t done so yet, and all program coordinators/dentist participants are asked to report their actual program totals following their events.
