Save the Fairy Tale Kingdom with your Toothbrush!

By | January 30, 2014

The American Dental Association is proud to be one of the founding members of the Ad Council’s Partnership for Healthy Mouths, Healthy Lives. As part of its successful Kids’ Healthy Mouths campaign, the Partnership recently released Toothsavers, a new, free mobile gaming app. This interactive game encourages kids to save friendly fairy tale characters from the evil, cavity-creating sorceress who cast a wicked, tooth-rotting spell on the kingdom. The goal of the game is to motivate children to save their own teeth by brushing their teeth two minutes, twice a day.

Here’s how you can help spread the word:

Share this game with your patients to motivate parents to take action to reduce their children’s risk of oral disease by making sure their kids are brushing their teeth for two minutes, twice a day.

What a great happen to share with the younger patients. I would like to have this on the monitor in the waiting room so the patients can see how fun it could be to brush their teeth.

Games are the learning method of the future, especially for kids, and the faster we all start using these methods the better results we are going to get. The game is fun regardless too haha.

I can see how having a game would motivate and educate children about brushing there teeth. Children are embracing technology at an increasing pace so being able to utilize technology to promote good oral health is definitely a good idea!

This is a great idea. It is always a challenge to get children to brush properly. By “gamifying” teeth brushing, it will be more fun for kids and help them remember to brush twice daily.

I do like the idea of down loading this app on the IPAD and having being used in the waiting room while the patient is waiting for their appointment. Mind you this can be used for all ages. It’s okay to be a kid at heart when your older. It keeps you young!

I get a kick out of this application for children to teach how to brush their teeth. I think this would be great application in school if the classes have IPAD’s or even IPOD’s.
